Services

How we can help.

Individual care

Dogs are different.
So is the care they need.

Some dogs thrive socially. Others need more space and a quieter routine. Family dogs may be happiest staying together. Training needs are individual too. Our approach starts with the dog in front of us, rather than a one-size-fits-all formula.

Boarding

Room to run.
A place to belong.

Our two-hectare Kyalami property gives dogs room for a structured daily routine, including exercise, socialisation and time to switch off. Social and private boarding arrangements are available, family dogs can stay together, and we accommodate overnight and longer stays.

Training

Clear communication.
Consistent training.

Gareth is the founder of A Floor of Dogs and a dog trainer with extensive practical experience. His approach helps owners communicate clearly and consistently with their dogs, building skills that work in everyday life.

“Training owners and fixing dogs, one human at a time.”

He has a particular interest in gundogs.

Our story

It started with a simple picture.

When Gareth started the business in 2011, he was walking dogs and working towards becoming a trainer. He always imagined that one day the business would include kennels and grooming too.

His picture of that life was simple: a home with a whole lot of happy dogs lying asleep across the floor. That image became the name A Floor of Dogs.
