Training
Private in-home dog training
Practical training in the environment where you and your dog actually live.

How it works
Training includes the owner.
Gareth is the founder of A Floor of Dogs and a dog trainer. Private sessions take place in the owner's real environment so the work can address everyday routines, communication and the situations that matter at home.
Training works best when the whole family is involved. Everyone in the household has a relationship with the dog, so clear and consistent communication from everyone matters.
The first session is a paid training session and includes an assessment of the dog, the household and what they need help with. Gareth begins practical work during that session and uses what he observes to guide the training approach from there. It also gives Gareth and the family a chance to establish mutual fit.
What is required varies by dog and household, so training is not sold as a fixed four-session package.
Individual plans
Clear communication. Consistent training.
Work may include practical obedience such as recall, sit, stay and other everyday foundations, as well as behaviour-modification support where Gareth's training experience is appropriate.
Progress depends on the whole family practising and following through consistently between sessions. Everyone has a relationship with the dog, so consistency across the household matters.
“Training owners and fixing dogs, one human at a time.”
